Gathering 1

This, our first Newcastle Gathering, was something of a quiet affair, with
just myself, Keith and Mel attending.  Having said that, Sean was intending
to come, but had to pull out at the last minute.  One possibility for the
small turnout was that we didn't have a huge amount of notice beforehand,
and another is that being a Wednesday evening, people were likely to be
doing other things.  You may notice that as of Gathering 2, all the meetings
have been on Tuesday evenings instead, which seems to have improved things
a bit.

Nevertheless, the three of us managed to have a pretty decent get-together,
aided by the photos from Wolf that Keith and Mel had taken.  As I recall,
we finished at around 10pm, which is rather early compared to subsequent
meetings.  However, this micro-Gathering must have sparked off something
in my head, because from this small start we're getting ready for Gathering 5,
with around 12 people.
